If you’re anything like me - or human, you have both embraced what you know to do and then struggled with what you wanted to do - you have trusted and leaned on each one of God’s whispers in your ear, and then - you second guessed everything. You’ve both been grateful for your portion, and still fell short of stewarding it well... This toggle and fight to embrace His truth and perfect will is not easy, but it's worth the fight. And we have a Savior. We have help to get to the greater thing. That's why this song was written. Truth be told, if we are not deceived into over-valuing ourselves and being self-consumed, we under-value ourselves, we underestimate the gifts of God in our lives and we hide - refusing to to attend to or bring His good and perfect gifts into full, uninhibited, fearless manifestation. At our worst, we let our gifts and the assignments over our lives collect dust. Being caught up in our own frailties, we miss the opportunity to experience the freedom He died to give us. But not only for us - for others. We MISS - in plain sight — mind you --- countless opportunities to bring this same liberty to other aching souls. I think God wants us to do otherwise. And by us - I start with capital M.E. That’s why there’s this song… “I’ll embrace the space that you created for me…” We have gifts to give, and hearts to love, and testimonies to encourage - for a reason. Life is so much more than the lousy pursuit of personal happiness and serving ourselves. Our bellies are never full. We can chase pleasure and comfort forever - but our cups only get refilled when we learn how to pour. There’s so much more... The least we can do is honor this moment in time that God has entrusted us with - not counting ourselves unworthy, or too busy - but instead counting ourselves LOVED, and a NECESSARY stitch in the fabric of God's reach. We get one life. We can't esteem ourselves as the principle thing the entire time. Not if there are other lives to light up. We are alive only because of the grace and mercies of God - it only makes sense to take some, and pass it down.
